Silence

1–2 minutes

I saw the most beautiful human connection in the absence of words.

When you remove the words, what is left behind are the gaze, the smile, the touch, the breath. Pure presence.

Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes, really looked, and saw the soul behind them? Have you seen yourself in that soul?

Have you had a huge smile on your face just because someone was smiling to you in her shining joy?

Have you ever watched someone’s face very closely, when her eyes were closed, and were struck by the silent beauty you found? To the point that you had tears in your eyes?

Has anyone touched you gently on your shoulders and you felt you have come home?

Have you ever sat next to someone, without even looking and felt grateful for sharing that moment and space? Grateful for your being?

Words dilute.
