Existentialism

I discovered philosophy for myself. It has become my best friend, my coach, my wise friend whom I turn to. I have him when I don’t know what to do in life, and otherwise.

There is so much to learn and discover…I am still in my baby shoes. From what I read and learned, existentialism speaks to me the most. It is simple in what it says: be responsible for your actions. You choose your authentic way of being out of free will and keep your word. There is no other reason such as a dominating higher power, nor even intelligence nor reason. It is you and only you. So wake up.

Life is finite and you’d better care. You care only when you truly internalize that everything is finite. One day you will loose everything; those whom you love, that what is important to you including yourself. So you’d better care. Nothing has a meaning if you don’t care. And you care when you know that you will lose it one day.

Death is the ultimate loss. And that is beautiful because thanks to death, the ultimate loss, what you have now has significance. Imagine, if you knew everything you have now lasts forever; you can never lose it. What meaning does it have? Nothing. It is just one thing next to the other on your shelf.

So, what do you care for? What makes you wake up every morning? What makes you come alive? How do you express yourself? Are you bold; or do you let your fears hold you back? When do you feel small? When do you feel big?

You have the choice to choose one over the other, and you are not a victim but the designer of your circumstances. It is your responsibility to exist and nobody else’s. Choose to be responsible for your life because you will loose it; you can make it matter for yourself and others, while you are here and when you are long gone. Explore, inspire, move, care, discover.
